Vetrostone™ is a uniquely quartz solid surface engineered by Vetrostone
USA, in Yemassee, South Carolina. Our surfaces are stronger than marble,
granite, limestone, and travertine yet weighs 15-20% lighter than natural
stone. Vetro translates into glass in Italian. In our online gallery,
you will find that Vetrostone contains a larger aggregate of sea glass
as opposed to the Oysterstone which contains larger aggregate of seashells.
How durable is Vetrostone™?
Vetrostone™ is remarkably durable surfaces. These surfaces have
a compressive strength of 18,000 psi. Through experience and a technological
advancement, Vetrostone USA is also the original company to combine a
UV resistant stabilizer into an aeronautical grade epoxy resin thus making
it safe to store slabs outside.
Is it heat and fire resistant?
Yes, Vetrostone™ is heat and fire resistant. It is designed and
engineered to withstand high temperatures excellent for kitchen and fireplace
applications.
Can Vetrostone™ be used
is food preparation areas?
Vetrostone™ contains an antibacterial agent not to harbor and bacteria
or fungus. Bacteria does not eat through composite quartz.
